Review of European championships

21/08/2017 11185

Today we will talk about series of championships that ended recently.

We bear in mind the quantity of events of the same type in a row, for example, 5 wins in a row.

It is logically to expect that the higher the team the longer will be the series of wins and the lower team the longer will be the series of defeats.

Let’s check it in numbers (the tournament table):

1. England – season 2016/2017:

The leaders confirmed this tendency indeed and outsiders surprised with short series of defeats. But, if you count the series without victories, then everything will fall into place and outsiders will indeed have long series.

Also Manchester United surprised as the ineffective team on points with series of 24 matches without defeats. Of course, it brought to their fans moral satisfaction but to they didn’t manage to take prize-winning place because of this long series of winning matches.

2. Germany the 2016/2017 season:

18

Darmstadt 25 7 4 23 3 8 3 11

There is the tendency "more series of wins" higher in the tournament table was totally confirmed.

We also have here one ineffective team on points - Werder.

3. Spain the 2016/2017 season:

Team  P  1  X  2 Maximum winning streak Maximum series of defeats Maximum series without defeat Maximum series without wins

1

Real Madrid 93 29 6 3 6 1 16 1

19 Osasuna 22 4 10 24 1 6 1 21
20 Granada 20 4 8 26 1 4 2 12

Spain is a classic example – the longer is the series of wins the higher is the place in the tournament table.

Also, as you can notice, 5 leaders don’t allow to themselves to have more than 2 defeats in a row in each of these three championships.

Don’t you think that it is a good occasion for bet on «Х2» for such teams in case of 2 defeats in a row?

And how is to define the top-5 leaders? The answer is to look at odds of bookmaker on winner before the beginning of the championship.
